My birthday watermarble with a cupcake on top served fresh with Hubby's Picks (HP20)

What a mouth full and I'm not talking the cupcake ;) I had an amazing birthday filled with gourmet bites, boozy delights, and a confused birthday manicure. But, hey, it was my birthday and I'll polish how I want to!

Basically I knew I wanted the overdone cupcake manicure. It's overdone, but I've never done it, and I love cupcakes. 'Nuff said. But I REALLY wanted a water marble. So naturally we do both with the traditional accent nail (because everything about my blog is traditional).
So the watermarble colors are super cool - there was an air bubble that popped sadly, and the kids kept bumping the table so they aren't perfect. But I loved it! The dark blue one is China Glaze First Mate, the lighter blue is China Glaze For Audrey, and the yellowish green is China Glaze Electric Pineapple. The cupcake is a lot of colors but my favorite part is the sprinkles which is Essence Circus Confetti. YUM! This is several days of wear sadly.

Onto hubby's picks! The line up was OPI I'm OK, You're Bouquet, Orly Winter Wonderland, Cult Nails Clairvoyant, and Color Club Perfect Mol-Ten. I ended up with a layering combination the was somehow sophisticated girly.
Click for a close-up. It's so sparkly and dimensionally amazing!
The OPI went on first followed by two coats of Clairvoyant and topped with Winter Wonderland. Then simple dots with both the OPI and the Color Club and presto! A simply stunning manicure if I do say so myself. I REALLY wanted to do more art but he keeps picking mostly glitters :( Here's to hoping for next week!

  2. I need to try water marbling; just set out some tools, set apart some time, and do it. So cool. Happy belated birfday! And I love the hp mani.
