First of all HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I didn't do an honorary manicure because this mama has been busy being a mama and doing volunteer events. Plus it's kind of my day too so I will post what I want to! Ha ha! Ok anyhow...
So my girlie over at Constantly Redone grabbed a couple of Love & Beauty polishes for me while she was in Washington a few weeks ago, and as soon as I saw one of them I wondered if it wasn't a dupe or close dupe to Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed (click the link to see my post about it).
Since I had to sell my precious bottle of Toxic Seaweed earlier this year to make ends meet I put out and ISO and a very sweet friend very generously sent me a decant of hers AND my first Skin Food (that'll be up later). Thank you so very much doll!!! Here's the bottle shots:
You can see nearly instantly that the flakes are smaller and a bit more prominent in the Cult Nails, but the base and micro glitters are identical.
The above is labeled according to which finger is which. There is two differences. Cult Nails has a nicer formula and the flecks in Cult Nails are smaller so there's more of them. The flecks are identical in coloring though.
Here's a closer look at the single layer of each. There's no topcoat on any of these swatches:
Here's a closer look at the two coat swatches. Again no topcoat:
In conclusion Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed is nicer in the two differences, but that's what you get when comparing a two dollar nail polish to a ten dollar nail polish. If you have a serious lemming start hitting the bins at Forever 21 for a bottle of Emerald, but make sure it's the one with flecks since they don't really have original names for their polishes and it's very easy to buy one based on name only to find it's a totally different polish then you wanted. It should help satiate the desire for Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed.
It's really too bad neither of these are easy to find, but you will probably have a far easier time getting your hands on a Love & Beauty over the Cult Nails version.
Until next time have a fantastic time!
Great comparison. I love comparison/dupe posts!
ReplyDeleteMe too!! Was super happy to log in this morning to find one on your blog. <3
DeleteI'm glad I read this post. I didn't even notice the flakes in the facebook preview in the Love & Beauty. This is good enough of a dupe for me.
ReplyDeleteIt is for me too - I shall now hoard the decant and layer on the cheapie!

ReplyDeleteFantastic comparison!! I really like Love & Beauty polishes. I just wish they had names.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much and me too! I mean really how hard is it to just come up with some basic names? They two seafoam greens and one is blue and one is green with a golden sheen to it. Really Love & Beauty?
Delete*have - type fail!
DeleteI'm not sure, but I think I might have actually dreamed about going to F21 for this last night.
ReplyDeleteROFL!! That's just pure amazing. I've actually had several dreams before about shopping for specific polishes. #totalpolishaddict
DeleteThanks for the comparison! I'll have to keep an eye out next time I'm at Forever 21. :-)

No problem - I'm loving dupe posts so much so I'm hoping I can get more up.
