My startling fact is that in the last 3 months I have bought, for myself, a total of 6 nail polishes. What in the world you may ask. Well I've been doing work for polishes and I've gotten a few surprise polishes but it just hasn't been in the cards for me to do a haul.
BUT when I saw releases for the new Fingerpaints Fall line I about died over the purple, but immediately quelled it figuring I'd never get to a display in time to obtain a bottle so I must not get attached. Then I ran out of acetone. So I had to go to Sallys. There.was.one.bottle.left. It was meant to be!! But you've all seen swatches, and you know I just can't leave a manicure alone ;)
Yes it is that foil-sparkley in real life. I didn't play with my camera to get that. It's direct sunlight, no flash, no editing (except to resize). Unlike other purples of this hue it is NOT a frosty, streaky finish but a smooth as butter deep jelly packed with foils, some of them with blue flashes!
I did a quick stamp over the top using Sally Hansen Pacific Blue and Lacey Lilac and brought the whole thing to life with Color Club topcoat (which is shockingly fast drying, shiny, and doesn't drag my art).
I know several other Fall lines are hitting or have hit the shelves. What shade do you NEED?

My First 5K
So over the last few months I've been training for my first 5K. I started my journey towards a healthier life last year when I hit 250 lbs. A severe low point for me I hurt all the time and was sick non stop. Since then I've lost 41 pounds and 10 of those in the last few month since beginning this running experience.
This is the logo from the group I participated in:
Now I do know not all of you believe in God - I'm not here to preach at you - just share this experience. See when I started out I HATED running. I couldn't run for more then 60 seconds without feeling like I couldn't breathe. Everything hurt - it felt awful! BUT I persisted. I kept being told to trust in the system and keep with it.
I ran despite rain, snow, and time of day (all I had was 6 am - but I got up and went). The family adjusted around my time for running and devotionals. I came to realize through this that I had cared so little about myself. I never valued who I was or that my body was made to move. I allowed myself to treat my body like it was optional instead of a tool. I'm now slimmer and stronger and I feel so empowered. I feel like a runner. I am a runner! I never thought I could have that.
I highly encourage you to look into either Run For God or Couch to 5K (the later is non-Christian affiliated but will give you a similar journey experience to help you find your potential). The first week is so doable. You run 3 times and do intervals of jogging and walking. It builds you and helps you find the strength and endurance to get into a 5k.
By the way I finished in 35 minutes...a consistent 12 minute mile. If you've been thinking about it NOW is the time to start. Not tomorrow....right now.

Hubby's Picks (5): Metal and Fire
This week hubby picked out two reds and two blues. When I reached the final result all I could think of was when you get close up and see the finish on a car:
He picked all cheapies: Brash Sparkling Brick, Snowman red glitter, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Pacific Blue, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Emerald Express. My first nail was the heart but it took a lot of work for so so results so I pulled out the striping tools. WIN!!
You can see better here - I put down Sparkling Brick first and then kind of layered the red glitter on the top half of the nail. Bold stripes in the blue creme with the flash of Emerald Express over the top to really pull all the flash out.
It's a fun combination and hubby ended up loving the bold stripes and the fantastic layering of the reds. I challenge you to ask someone around you to look through your stash and pick out an unusual set of colors to try out. It really pushes you.
