Summer Challenge: Day 10 Favorite Mani

This is IT. The final day of this challenge and I have to say it was actually pretty easy to get through! I didn't feel over committed or overwhelmed. Just got to enjoy the challenge and have fun with it. I could totally do more like this!

So last year when I first started I did this manicure. I redid it because it personifies many things about me, about my blog, and, well, it's surprisingly my favorite to date. It might surprise you a little. Well probably not. I originally called this rock it like it's 1999:
Ok so here's why: if you somehow missed it I'm a mommy. A very busy one at that so I came up with this manicure type last year as a quick solution to have a fun and funky manicure. I wasn't very good at stamping consistently but I could handle two nails on each hand. One quick coat of Wet N' Wild Black Creme (seriously a staple for any polish array - my favorite stamping black!), with a coat of China Glaze Haute Metal on every other finger. Then stamp the remaining four nails with Sally Hansen White On, and top those with a coat of OPI Teenage Dream. The entire manicure from basecoat to topcoat should take no longer then 15 minutes.

The black used to have a label but it's my go to black so yeah. The writing is long gone.

How do you feel about crackle? A bygone fad for you or a style you still visit?

Summer Challenge: Day 9 Flowers

Today is a definite end of summer/beginning of fall day. It's warm, but with a nip in the air and walking around I see leaves lying all over in their slightly crisped state. Still plenty of leaves on the trees though so not quite there yet. Soon though! For now we approach the end of this Summer Challenge hosted by the sweet Kelly over at Ooh La La Polish. This is the second to last day and the challenge is: flowers! I haven't stamped in this entire challenge so I thought it was time:
Bright, vibrant, saturated colors sing to the song of summer. Base is my latest polish craze of China Glaze For Audrey (so versatile!). From the flower base up is Julep Alicia, OPI Miami Beet (which I bought for the day I own Whimsical Peanut Butter & Jelly), and the leaves are Julep Selena.

On that note I hear the bus - got to go get my sweet babies :)

Summer Challenge Day 8: Love and Hearts

Well love and/or hearts. I went with both:
It's been a day/week/month and there's no sign of it letting up. Until next time!

Summer Challenge: Day 5 Polka Dots

You know me. I love polka dots. So when I saw that day five would be *drumroll please* polka dots I got a tad excited. Here's my, in my honest opinion, totally amazing polka dots:

Base color is China Glaze Unpredictable. Now I had read that people didn't feel this was a good duochrome so when Liesl Loves Pretty Things gave it to me as a gift I wasn't sure what to expect. Umm it's pure AMAZING. Yes it's a subtle duochrome but my word it's so shifty and gorgeous and doesn't need sunlight to be glorious. I now want all of them and have a feeling they'll be hard to achieve now. Good job me listening to others.
Blue green to green to deep greens and blues. I decided to play off the shift with my dots and I just LOVE the look!
Now some food for thought:
Are you thinking about food now? This was my first attempt at blackberry pie and has nothing to do with duochromes, blue, green or nail polish. BUT blackberries are a signature summer berry here in Oregon and this was a happy discovery. Until the next challenge: Stripes!! I am loving A Few Of My Favorite Things <3

Summer Challenge: Day 3 My Favorite Animal

Is a soft, fuzzy kitty! I love cats! If I wasn't a mommy and a wifey I'd so order this:
Don't you just want to cuddle those cutie pies? Ok, moving on. Here's my amazing kitty manicure that I kind of blew myself away with:
Do you just die of the cuteness overload???? My favorite part is the claw marks. They are so super easy to do! I know they will be coming up in some Halloween manicures (I'll do a little step by step here soon on them).

That, ladies and gentlemen concludes day 3. Basically you got cute, fuzzy, favorite, kitty, and claw marks. Got it? Excellent! Day 4 is Thursday at which point we'll be seeing favorite food....and I so know what I'm doing for it!

Summer Challenge: Day 2 My Favorite Polish

....will probably surprise you. You've probably come to expect wildly colorful, bold manicures, and combinations that just wouldn't seem to go together naturally together. So what bright, bold and off the wall nail polish makes me swoon? Essie Pure Pearlfection.
Here's some sunlight shots:

I decided to put it over Julep Molly, Rimmel Black Satin, and Sally Hansen White On to show how this effects top coat shimmers. Sadly over white it doesn't show enough to be picked up in the pictures but it's such a gorgeous shimmer. So elegant.
Shade shots:

This is THE polish I use most often to glitz up manicures, blend gradients, top off butterfly wings and so much more. I think I'm just in love with how versatile it is. What's your favorite?

Summer Challenge: Day 1 My Favorite Color

I have been singing various songs from Sound of Music this last week due to planning out my favorite things manicures. I decided to take the plunge and do a scheduled challenge but this one is just on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A brilliant challenge concept that Ooh La La Polish came up with <3

The first challenge was favorite color and mine is green. But you know how colorful I am! One green just isn't enough.
Bottom layer is Orly Green Apple and then I sponged Julep Emilie down and topped it off with Polished Component Earth's Day which is a green toned holo topper.
True to the name of this challenge this turned into my favorite green manicure to date!

Here's the challenge itself:
Fun, simple, and pretty stress free which I can totally get on board with. Hop over to her blog if you want to participate.
