Her Majesty...

Zelda! So you may or may not have been like me and assumed (incorrectly) that the game was name Zelda for the character you play. Yeah, no - apparently (as I learned back when I took my plunge into gamer nerdism) Zelda is the princess and the character you play is Link. If you ask me it was the game makers was of trolling generations of game players to come since this is actually a common misconception (yeah laugh it up guys).

At any rate when I saw the Zelda duo that Dollish Polish made I just knew I had to own. I just had to! So this is a tribute to her majesty Zelda:
The base glitter is two coats of Dollish Polish Hylian Princess. No undies under it - it's just that amazing! I taped off and did a coat of Sally Hansen Lacey Lilacs stamped with Wet N' Wild black creme in a quilted pattern reminiscent of a the bodice of gown.
I just love this glitter mixture! Tiny deep, purple glitters make the base and swim with larger hexes in both dark and light purple, gold squares, larger white hexes and holo hexes for a well thought out blend that really does remind me of our princess.
I did have a mishap on the ring finger but I had to post this one so you could see the glint of the holo from that hex glitter there.
That, ladies and gents, is my Zelda manicure. Or one of them. Because, really, I plan to do more. ;) Until next time!

    1. It's a super easy trick but, sadly, a touch time consuming. I'll do a tutorial on it in the near future.

  2. Ya know... normally I'm not a fan of glitters that show that much naked nail, but the way you've done this is just gorgeous and amazing! And Woot! for oldschool video games, lol... I never played Legend of Zelda but I did at one point save Princess Toadstool ten (nine?) times in a row one Christmas vacation.

    1. That's totally amazing - I've only saved Princess Toadstool a couple of times EVER so you have me beat hands down in a week! Yeah I'm not a fan of the naked nail but I've been seeing some naked nail art lately that has me rethinking it big time.

    1. I started doing two-toned manicures way back when I first started and saw Nailside using tape to create shapes. I'm just not talented enough to get her perfect shapes on every nail so I simplified ;) Thanks so much!

  5. This is slightly on topic of this post, but did you hear about the dad who changed all the pronouns in a game from he to she so his daughter could feel like she was the hero? Link becomes a woman (and doesn't he like like a woman anyway with his hair that way?) and goes off to save Zelda...

    Anyway, nice manicure!

    1. You always know the coolest and nerdiest stuff!! I just love it so much! I am so tempted to try and mod the game like that (or get my hubby with a game design degree to do it for me - let's be honest here).
