So my package from Born Pretty Store arrived! When I was asked to pick and item to review and I saw they had flocking powder I knew I had to try it. I've been on the fence about this trend but consider me on the side of this design type. The possibilities!
I don't know why I haven't seen this before but art using the flocking powder - I so want to stamp flowers and accent the middles with yellow and orange! How fun right?
Ok for starters here's what I received:
Flocking powder (BIG container too - about one and half the ones at the art store I think) and a brush.
Close up of the brush - it's a medium brush with bristles that aren't too stiff or too soft. It shed a little but it was definitely nice to have in cleaning off the excess flocking powder. I recommend buying the kit with the tweezers - I did use my own no problem but I notice theirs has longer and flatter heads which would probably pick the flock up far easier. You really only need one kit and then you can just get individual colors.
The flock itself was nice and super fuzzy once on the nails. It stuck to the paint very well and was fairly easy to clean up. Now don't think this isn't a messy art type because it makes a MESS. But these pictures are all taken after I've washed my hands and the flock is still there and FUZZY!
I want to get all kinds of colors now to do all kinds of accents! I did try to sprinkle this on OPI shatter and the shatter barely split so kind of sad on that front. Still, as I said, the possibilities!
As you can see it doesn't stand very high so it's not like you have massive amounts of flock stuck to your nails. Just a little coat of velvet. This would be super fun for special events. How great would this look with a cocktail dress?
All in all Mommy recommends this one! It's super fun and now I'm considering flocking my daughter's nails. If you decide to go and grab a kit (or get one as a stocking stuffer!) I'd love it if you used my coupon code: EBL91 - Born Pretty Store tracks the use of this 10% off code and if 10 of my readers use it they host a giveaway through my blog.

What did you use to adhere the flocking powder to your nails?
ReplyDeleteGood question! You apply it using a similar color of nail polish - in this case Essie Licorice.
