Blue on blue and Monday Minicure

I have GOT to get better about my Monday manicures. This week's challenge over at PAA on Facebook is blue on blue. Also I got distracted by cracked.com....that's random but how random are different textures in a duo tone manicure with different blues? Ok not that random....anyhow.....
Starting from the base up we have Julep Jaime, Sally Girl Blue Glitter, NYC Skin Tight Denim, and then China Glaze Crackle Oxidized Aqua. I did a top coat over the glitter and then top coat over the whole thing at the end so this ended up pretty thick.
I love the effect! The Sally Girl is my first of this polish type and I totally love it!

Such a wonderful manicure but the thickness of it was quite a bit. The differences of textures and all the blues made my hubby happy who thought it was amazing! Now onto the cute part of this post.

The other day my daughter announce she was big enough to do her own nails - when asked at the dinner table what the best part of her day was she said, without hesitation, the part where she got to do her nails. Such happiness!!!

Look at how carefully she brushes off the excess polish and how neatly she paints!!! So much cuteness - my hubby says I've created a monster. Welcome monster to the nailaholic ranks - where we chase lemmings and dusty hunt to feed our passion ;)

I'm still doing the accent thing

The accent nail has become iconic and I'm still loving it after it's died down a little. It's like a tiny splash of extra personality and an easy way to have an excuse for only stamping two nails instead of every nail. Observe:
The blue is Zoya Cynthia and the orangey-red is Crushed by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. Cynthia also adorns my accent finger in stamped form (so she does stamp though she looks more black then blue when stamped out) and the crackle is from the metals collection from China Glaze.

I'm not feeling witty - mainly tired. Today was my oldest babies first day of 1st grade and I'm exhausted from worrying all day long. He came home super happy and super excited about school so I'm more at peace, but boy it's been a day!

July 2011 China Glaze Crackle Metals!

Ok so I got a teal crackle from an undisclosed source from the new Crackle Metals line that releases next month!!!! I run home to tell hubby:
Me: No one can buy these yet!!!
Him: Ok?
Me: Yeah....so......yeah
Him: That's exciting I take it?
Me: *face palm*
Constantly Redone was excited with me (though not as over the top as I was because, let's face it, I'm an excitable person.
Aren't they gorgeous?!?! I grabbed the teal one and decided to try out a diagonal crackle (which works really nicely) over a variety of colors so you can see how it comes out:
Middle finger is Dream On by Sinful Colors, pointer and ring fingers are White Matte Suede by Revlon (more to come on that polish), and the thumb and pinky fingers are sporting Zoya Ibiza. Metal is so versatile that I tried it over Not like the Movies from the OPI Katy Perry line:

So much glam and glitz!!! I can't believe I scored a polish that isn't available to the public yet!
On a random mommy note - while I type this it is dead silent. ALL OF THE CHILDREN ARE NAPPING! Could this post, honestly, get more amazing????
