Hubby's Picks: The one with chewed up bubblegum (HP10)

So two tings. One is that I realized I was using HB to name my Hubby's Picks when I should have been using HP. Ooops :) The second is I realized why I don't like Sally Hasen Trust Mauve. It looks like chewed up bublegum that someone stuck on a table and it sat in the sun. Mmmm yum right? Anyhow onto the good stuff:
Layering: Since Zoya Kotori and Wet N' Wild Blue Wants To Be A Billionaire (good grief that name is looooooong) are both sheer blues with micro glitter particles I decided to simply layer them. That looked AMAZING!
This is slightly blurred so you can see all those deep blue and holographic particles interacting. Next I dotted Sally Hansen Trust Mauve on my nail line - honestly it has a truly fantastic formula. It's pretty sheer painted on it's own but builds beautifully. It just looks like chewed up bubblegum.
Then I tipped it with Wet N' Wild Ready To Pounce. Now Ready To Pounce is a gorgeous and deeply rich purple that glows with depth...and chips nearly instantly. So sad for such an intensely beautiful purple.

All in all not my favorite Hubby's Picks but totally not the worst (remember the spider?). Hope your summer is going great!

Brash - new Payless Shoestore brand

I watch my friend's kiddos and she, often, shows up with new nail goodies for me to try out. It's a happy arrangement. Introducing the Payless Shoestore nail polish: Brash.

Front and back of the bottle and, obviously, the accent finger is sporting this new color called Sparkling Bricks. Deep burgundy with gold micro glitter flecks. Not overly original but oh so gorgeous! They have several other colors and BOGO1/2off right now so I may be heading back to pick up a few other pretties. Brush is nice - not too stiff and doesn't seem to shed. Wonderful fall color. Pictures is 2 coats with a tip of Zoya Reva.

The other nails are adorned with Zoya Cynthia - another polish she passed on since she was one of the Smoke and Mirrors winners (seriously how lucky is that?!). But it's like I win too so I'm not complaining *winks* 2 coats and tipped with Zoya Kotori.

On and off topic: Dashed Date Night and curliformers

Hi, hi, hi - ok I'm a touch jumpy cause I had a little caffeine and I'm going through a ween myself off of soda thing....it's rough. However that's not the off-topic part of my on-topic post here. I know I do nails, but I also try other things sometimes. First a general here's me picture (I swear I'm going somewhere with this):
Not very flattering, but this is the most accurate day-to-day of, well, me. Hi again! Ok so onto the part that's off-topic. I was supposed to be going on a date last week. The husband takes the cute wife in the black dress and heels to somewhere classy kind of date. Well life happened, but it waited to happen until after my galfriends had started dolling me up. Since I was pouty I finished up my look just to show life how I felt about it.

No one spent hours doing my hair and I did not get a perm. What you are seeing is curliformers. They are these curled, flexible, plastic tubes that you straighten out, put the tool through, hook your hair and pull it through (that was complicated - check out youtube for tutorials). Killer right? Hair starts out wet, then dries in the tubes and you pull them out for this awesome look!
What was the on-topic part? Oh right - I did my nails for this get up. I was going for chic and classy which led me to Zoya Jules. Jules is a stunning gold/silver color that looks lovely in the bottle but is a pain to paint out. I tipped it with Zoya Kotori (did it by hand since I don't have a tips tool, tape, or anything else at the moment).

Since both have glitter they complimented each other sooo nicely! I just loved this one despite the lack of going out.
