March 2013 Nail Art Society bag review. Wait...

Yeah you read right - I am indeed reviewing the 2013 Nail Art Society bag. I cancelled but I guess they've become so desperate to keep customers they've stopped accepting cancellations on their site! Don't bother calling - you won't get a real person. Or a return call. Or a return email. You can Facebook them but unless you win the Facebook response lotto that's not looking like a good route for contact either.

The package:
No complaints here, but not for the reason you'd think. Mailer was sealed. Good, good. The usual bubble wrap bag inside - again not taped but it didn't matter this month! Let me show you why:
Contents:
  • One package of glitter zebra striped nail polish strips by Nail Fraud. People are reporting seeing these popping up in Dollar Stores. On their site it's 12.00. o.0
  • Stella fimo flowers in peachy orange.
  • 4 art pots containing: purple caviar beads, iridescent green half pearls, fimo apple slices, and flowers in iridescent peachy orange.
Not.a.single.polish. Nail polish strips. In stripes. Or animal print. Both are looks they've already done and done again. *facepalm*

So rock on - all these things are not like the other ones. I mean look at that array! I'm a talented person and pretty dang good at seeing nail art where others do not but this is a mess. The point of the bag, according to NAS, is to create ONE look. NAS I challenge you to create a decent look with all of this. You didn't even put a cohesive look on your card! Seriously - not even a look featuring the nail polish strips.

The what in the world factor continues when you flip the card over to find out what in the heck kind of look you're going for here and find (and I quote):

3D Freestyle!
We have listened to your suggestions and have dedicated this month to you!!! We want YOU to create the nailart looks!

Allow me to translate. Ahem: "We have no clue what we're doing and know we can't deliver on the promised brands. So we'll try to cover that fact by saying this is what you want!"

Nope. Wrong again - and we actually put this in black and white repeatedly on their page so they KNOW what we want. Honestly I'd be happy with a mini of a Zoya or an OPI (or two heaven forbid) with some updated looks.

Readers this is it. This is what you can expect from NAS. I can probably safely say this is going to effectively fold this company.

So no look because, well, what can you honestly expect with this?

  1. I am so very disappointed. This is my first bag with them (which I haven't received yet, but I know what to expect)

Thank you for the review, however!

    1. I'm sorry this had to be your first bag - last month wasn't too bad. Hopefully you'll get some use out of this bag.

    2. My strips were black and white stripes, so I cut them apart and used the white strips... but that's about all I could do. They promised to send me another bag, and I haven't seen it yet. It seems like a scam to be honest.

    3. That's actually a super creative idea! I would have never thought of that. Kind of rethinking about putting the strips on my piggies. Honestly the company isn't a scam - I've gotten bags four months. BUT it's not what they are promising it to be. It does appear to be turning into a scam however :(

    1. Oh yeah this is one to steer clear of. I kept hoping and hope, apparently, isn't making it any better.

    1. For reals. I mean at least there was a polish to take the sting out of things before but this just felt like such a rip off.

  6. as of right now they have disabled comments on their Facebook page and deleted any posts besides positive ones, and pictures they have shared from other bloggers pages! -I believe they are trying to convince people that these looks were created from their kits! Also, since all the negative comments were deleted and no one can leave new ones, I feel so bad for new folks signing up! I just hope they research before they commit money so they will know what they might be getting themselves into, especially since more than a few people have been trying for three months to cancel! Also, with them not answering emails or phone calls, the only way I was able to get a hold of a real live person was via the Facebook page. :/ Luckily, I used paypal so I was able to cancel payments directly through them, however those who used a credit card have not been so lucky!

    1. I agree completely. The disabling of comments really just seals the entire deal. They can't and won't hear honest feedback and are just trying to draw out the life span of their company. It's so disheartening. I am really glad I used Paypal but many didn't and now it's impossible to get ahold of anyone. :(
